We all making each other feel safe, when we are kind.
Happy warm-hearted Wednesday!! I captioned the photo, “We all make each other feel safe, when we are kind”. I really want you to think about what that truly means. If you haven’t been in a situation where you feel unsafe, you may not have a clue why some people act, react, and respond the way they do. For those who have experienced the unpleasantness of not feeling safe, have a much more difficult time with being able to feel safe again.
Let’s say for instance, you’re around someone who flinches when a hand is raised and they move away from you. In your mind you may wonder that you’re the problem, when the trauma response in the other person is to move because they’ve been hit before. You may not understand that fear. For that person who has experienced trauma, they have to get to a place of learning how to be vulnerable again.
If we all can come to a place of compassion and understanding that people haven’t had the same experiences in life, we would be able to exemplify what being kind and safe really is. My hope is that, with each word I write, touches those who will take it to heart and choose to make this world a better place.
